This dive site, 'A World Adrift', is an inspiring underwater sculpture park by renowned artist Jason deCaires Taylor, located on a shallow sandpatch five minutes by boat from Hillsborough Bay, near Jack A Dan. Created to raise awareness about Climate Change, the sculptures are inspired by the boat building culture of Carriacou and Petit Martinique. Divers and snorkelers can easily navigate the shallow waters, exploring these unique art pieces that serve as artificial reefs.
The park is home to an abundant and diverse array of marine life, with the sculptures providing new habitats for various fish species, crustaceans, and corals. Expect to see colorful reef fish, juveniles, and other small critters that thrive in the protective environment offered by the art installations.
With excellent visibility and shallow depths, this site is perfect for all levels of divers and highly suitable for snorkelers and freedivers. The best time to visit is generally during Grenada's dry season, typically from January to May, when weather and sea conditions are most favorable. Its accessibility and unique artistic appeal make it a highlight for anyone visiting Carriacou.
