This dive site, named "The Big Blue" at Atlantis Berlin, is a dedicated indoor pool facility with a maximum water depth of 3.5 meters. It features built-in platforms, making it an ideal, controlled environment for various diving activities such as beginner training, try diving experiences, refresher courses, and comprehensive equipment testing for dry suits, BCDs, and regulators. Navigation within the pool is straightforward, focusing on skill development rather than extensive exploration of an underwater landscape.
As an artificial indoor facility, The Big Blue does not host any marine animals or natural aquatic plants. The environment is maintained purely for human diving activities, meaning there is no opportunity for wildlife observation, big or small.
This dive site is suitable for year-round visits, regardless of external weather conditions. It serves as an excellent location for divers looking to test new high-quality photographic equipment, full face masks, or rebreathers in a calm, clear setting. Freedivers can also use the shallow depths for introductory breath-hold training and skill practice.
