This dive site is situated in Meersburg, Germany, accessible via a gravel path and potentially slippery stone stairs leading from the parking lot. Underwater, it features a shallow sloping heap, ranging from 5 to approximately 20 meters. A notable feature is a submerged platform located in the 5-meter area to the left of the entrance, often used for training and safety stops.
The site is particularly known for its vibrant marine life in summer, especially in the shallow areas which become densely overgrown with aquatic plants. These dense plant beds provide a habitat for numerous crabs, giving the dive site its name, Krebsgarten (Crab Garden). Divers can expect to observe various freshwater fish species alongside the abundant crabs.
The best time to visit Meersburg - Krebsgarten is during the summer months when the aquatic plant growth is at its peak, attracting the most crabs and providing a lush underwater environment. Divers should exercise caution on the stone stairs which can be very slippery during entry and exit. This site is also suitable for freedivers due to its accessible shallow areas and training platform.
