This dive site, Trou Canard, is a captivating lagoon located within the heart of the Petite Terre marine reserve, approximately 50 minutes of boat navigation from the mainland. Divers begin their exploration in the calm lagoon, then navigate through three successive passes before returning to the lagoon via a unique underwater chimney. This distinct topography offers an engaging and straightforward dive path, ideal for underwater exploration.
The vibrant marine ecosystem hosts an impressive array of species including nurseshark, rays, and barracuda, alongside smaller inhabitants such as butterflyfish, damselfish, sergeant major, pufferfish, trunkfish, lionfish, wrasse, grouper, grunts, squirrelfish. Crustaceans like lobster, shrimp, and the distinctive eiffel crab also thrive here, making it a rich spot for observing diverse marine life.
