This dive site, Pointe de l'Aiguille, is a very shallow and easily accessible location on the French Riviera. With a maximum depth of 5 meters, it's characterized by rocky seabed and formations typical of Mediterranean coastal areas. Navigation is straightforward due to the shallow depth, making it an excellent spot for introductory dives and snorkel explorations. There's no significant historical context or specific wrecks known for this particular shallow point.
Despite its limited depth, the site can harbor a variety of small Mediterranean marine life. Divers and snorkelers might encounter different species of wrasse, sea bream, damselfish, and gobies hiding among the rocks and seagrass beds. Octopus, cuttlefish, and various crustaceans like crabs and shrimp are also common, along with nudibranchs and other small invertebrates, providing good opportunities for macro photography.
The best time to visit Pointe de l'Aiguille is during the warmer months from May to October when water temperatures are comfortable and surface conditions are generally calm. This site is particularly suitable for beginner divers, try-dives, and snorkelers due to its very shallow profile and easy access. Freedivers will also find it a great spot for practicing skills in a safe and controlled environment.
