About this dive site

This dive site, La Plagette, is a unique and renowned spot situated at the base of Cap d’Agde's volcanic cliffs, offering a rare opportunity for underwater exploration along the extensive French Mediterranean coastline between Camargue and Perpignan. A well-marked snorkel trail, established in 2007, guides visitors through 5 educative buoys, making navigation easy and informative for all levels of experience.

The site is a vibrant hub for discovering numerous species characteristic of Mediterranean rocky environments. Divers and snorkelers can expect to encounter blennies, salema, cuttlefish, and red mullets, alongside other fascinating marine life adapted to these shallow volcanic structures.

La Plagette is best visited during the warmer months, typically from spring through autumn, when water temperatures are more inviting and marine activity is at its peak. Its shallow depths and clear conditions make it particularly excellent for both snorkeling and freediving, providing an accessible and engaging experience for observing the local ecosystem.
