This dive site presents a unique opportunity to explore two closely located shipwrecks. The wrecks, the Donator and the Greek (or what remains of it), are situated just a few hundred meters apart and separated by approximately 23 days. Both vessels were lost in the aftermath of World War II; the Donator, a pinardier cargo ship, sank after hitting a mine, while the Greek, also a cargo vessel, succumbed to similar fate. The proximity allows for a fascinating comparison between two wrecks that share a similar history and location. The conditions surrounding these sites are remarkably consistent. However, there’s a subtle difference: the Donator rests with its bow pointing towards Porquerolles, while the Greek faces away, directing its stern toward Port-Cros. This orientation provides distinct visual perspectives for divers.
