This dive site, Aquarium d’Anchorage, offers a charming and accessible underwater experience located a short boat ride west of St. François. It's characterized by a vibrant coral reef set against a backdrop of white sand, providing clear navigation around its main features. As a relatively small site, it's easy to explore thoroughly, making it perfect for relaxed dives without complex currents or challenging topography.
The site is teeming with a multitude of reef fish, including colorful Butterflyfish, Damselfish, Sergeant major, Balloonfish, Trunkfish, Barracuda, Wrasse, Grouperfish, Gruntfish, and Squirrelfish. Macro enthusiasts will appreciate the presence of Lobster, Shrimp, and unique Eiffel Crab, along with the striking Flamingo tongue snail. Lionfish are also present, adding to the biodiversity, though divers should observe them from a safe distance.
Given its shallow average depth of 7 meters, this site is excellent for both scuba divers and freedivers, as well as snorkelers. It's suitable for year-round diving, with generally good visibility.
