This dive site, known as the Blue Lagoon, is situated off the incredibly beautiful beach of Nanuya Lai Lai, a tranquil island within Fiji's Yasawa archipelago. With a maximum depth of just 5 meters and an average of 2 meters, it's a perfect spot for shallow water exploration. Diving here is mostly free-form within the sheltered lagoon, offering easy navigation from the shore.
Despite ongoing coral bleaching, the site still hosts a good variety of fish, and the corals, while not at their peak, are generally in better condition than many other global locations. Visitors can still appreciate some of the reef's once glorious colors and observe various small reef inhabitants.
The best time to visit Fiji is generally during its dry season (May to October) for the calmest waters and best visibility, though the lagoon is often sheltered. It is an excellent destination for snorkelers, beginner divers, and freedivers. After your water activities, take the scenic path to Lo’s Tea House for stunning views of the reef and surrounding islands, perfect for watching one of Fiji's famous sunsets.
