This dive site is located at the marina by the Slapy Dam, offering freshwater diving in varied conditions. While the typical maximum recommended depth for this site is 32 meters with an average depth of 16 meters, the Slapy reservoir itself reaches depths of 56 meters. Divers can explore a significant boat wreck at a depth of 25 meters, reputedly the largest wreck in Slapy, located about 15 minutes swim against the current. For advanced divers, a trail at 43 meters leads to a pontoon wreck, although this depth may exceed the typical operating limits for this specific entry point.
Beneath the surface, the dive site is teeming with freshwater marine life. Divers frequently encounter perch, pike, catfish, and zander. With a bit of luck, the waters may also reveal crayfish and eels, providing interesting subjects for observation. The colder temperatures contribute to a unique ecosystem distinct from typical marine environments.
Due to the cold water (ranging from 3-12°C), dry suit diving is highly recommended for comfort and safety throughout the year. The site is best visited by experienced intermediate divers comfortable with deeper depths and cold water. Advanced divers can aim for the deeper pontoon wreck, but caution regarding depth limits and current should always be exercised. This site offers excellent opportunities for wreck diving and observing specific freshwater species.
