This dive site, known as La Pastelería (The Bakery), earns its name from the unique appearance of its coral, which is covered in a fine layer of dust, reminiscent of flour. It's an excellent location for both deep dive training and recreational diving, featuring various areas with distinct reef groups. Navigation is generally straightforward amidst the reef structures.
The site boasts a diverse array of marine fauna, notably including Cubera Snappers which are observed to be larger than average for the region. While specific macro life is not detailed, the presence of healthy coral reefs suggests a good habitat for various reef fish and smaller invertebrates.
With usually excellent visibility of around 20 meters (60 feet), La Pastelería is enjoyable year-round, although the dry season (typically December to April) might offer the calmest conditions. It's highly suitable for both scuba divers seeking to practice deeper skills or simply enjoy the vibrant reefs, and freedivers due to its manageable depth profile and clarity.
