About this dive site

Snapper Hole is a captivating dive site, particularly popular with East End divers. The site’s appeal lies in its intricate network of swim-throughs, tunnels, and caverns – so intriguing that crews often find themselves debating who stays above the surface! Beneath the boat, a cavern featured in a BBC nature documentary transforms into a vibrant spectacle during summer months, hosting swarms of Silversides which attract Tarpon and Jacks for an exciting hunt. A massive 1872 Spanish-style anchor rests against a coral head, offering a memorable photo opportunity – simply reach through its expansive shackle. Divers will discover abundant populations of Bluestriped Grunts, Schoolmaster Snappers, and elusive Porkfish, while a resident Green Moray frequently surprises with graceful glides through the underwater canyons. Before ascending, be sure to explore Papa Smurf’s House—a unique coral head resembling a giant mushroom.
