This dive site, Molhe de Fora, is an artificial pier located just outside the harbor in Cabo Verde. Divers typically begin on a sandy bottom, following the artificial rocky structure on their right until they reach the harbor entrance nearby the ferry dock zone. The dive path is straightforward, navigating along the pier's structure which provides ample nooks and crannies for marine life.
The site is home to a diverse array of marine animals, many of which find refuge within the rocks and require a torch to fully appreciate. Common sightings include puffer fish, various rays, lobsters, sand congros, cirurgion fish, vibrant nudibranchs, amberjacks, spider crabs, other crab species, bermuda sea chub, and trumpet fish. Occasionally, divers may also be lucky enough to encounter nurse sharks.
With its shallow depths and protected nature, Molhe de Fora is suitable for diving and snorkeling for most of the year, though specific peak seasons for marine life are not detailed. It is particularly recommended for divers who enjoy exploring cracks and crevices for macro life. Bringing a torch is highly advised to illuminate the many holes and overhangs where creatures hide, enhancing the experience for both photographers and observers.
