This dive site presents a unique opportunity to explore the wreck of the Soviet submarine Sht-204, lost in 1941. The submarine was discovered by a Bulgarian fishing boat near Byala in June 1983 and lies on a flat seabed at a depth of approximately 32 meters. The bow section is deeply embedded in the mud, with the bow torpedoes buried below. Significant damage is visible, including large breaches in compartments two, five, and seven, suggesting that the submarine was struck by either aerial bombs or several depth charges – eliminating the possibility of a mine explosion. The propellers remain largely intact, providing a clear visual marker. Visibility at this site can be limited due to sediment stirred up from the seabed. This location is historically significant and offers a glimpse into a forgotten chapter of World War II naval history.
