This dive site, Segelboot Dixi, offers an intriguing exploration of Attersee's underwater world, starting from a sloping bottom easily accessible from shore. Divers navigate towards a platform at 5 meters, an ideal spot for safety stops or introductory dives. Further descent reveals a covered pile dwelling at 8 meters, hinting at historical human presence, while a prominent jetty at 17 meters provides a complex structure to explore. Adding to the unique features is an air-filled bathtub, creating an unusual artificial attraction.
The shallower areas near the shore are often vibrant with activity, hosting diverse shoals of fish that are a delight for divers. Venturing deeper, specifically under the footbridge (jetty) at 17 meters, divers frequently discover eel rods hiding, offering excellent opportunities for observation and macro photography.
With Attersee generally known for its good visibility, Segelboot Dixi provides clear views of its unique structures and resident marine life. While diving is possible year-round, the warmer months are typically more comfortable. The site is highly suitable for both scuba divers of all levels, offering shallow and deeper elements, and is also an excellent spot for freedivers and snorkelers due to the accessible shallow platform and active shore area.
